Welcome to Mana U3A Inc.

Site Updated 29 February 2020

Our group is part of a nation-wide organization founded in 1982 with the aim of providing a learning for life structure specifically for those in the older age group and no longer in full time employment.  We confer no degrees but study and learn for the fun of it. Mana U3A was established in 1991.  Our current membership of some 200 comes from Tawa in the south to Otaki in the north.

Mana U3A Inc. annual programme includes four quarterly meetings which normally include a guest speaker.  In addition, members variously participate in individual study groups which include: Books, Book Discussion, Bridge,  Creative Writing, Films, Gardening, Handcraft, Mah Jong, Play Reading, Sciences, These Changing Times, Theatrical Shows, Travellers’ Tales.  These study groups generally meet in the friendly atmosphere of private homes with individual members actively involved in organising or leading groups.

A current annual membership costs $10 pa. An additional charge of $5 is paid for those who wish to receive all Newsletters by post.  There are no course fees as such but the costs of any resources used are shared by the course participants.
