Venue: North Baptist Church, Discovery Drive, Whitby

 Visitors are welcome.

The speaker at our next meeting on Thursday 15 August is Clive Palmer who will be talking about family history.

Clive has had a career in the tertiary, public, and crown agency sectors and as a private consultant, specialising in science and technology management and organisation. He is a member of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists, serving on their governing body and receiving a service award. He is a Life Member of the Kapiti Branch of the NZSG with a period as Convenor. He is currently involved in providing family history advice to community groups on the Kapiti Coast and has recently published the histories of his own and wife’s families.

The title of his talk is “Why You are You”. The talk will provide advice on how to research and record your family’s geneology, where to find information and so on.  This will also be an opportunity for members who would like to form a family history group to express their interest and Clive is happy to lead a  discussion about how to go about this.
